Extreme weather conditions have displaced hundreds of people Himachal Pradesh following incessant rains and snowfall. Sixteen trekkers, including 10 foreigners, have gone missing in the higher reaches of tribal Pangi sub-division in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.
The nationality of the 10 trekkers is not known.
Deputy Inspector General (Kangra range) Atul Fulzele said a team of policemen, porters, and mountaineering experts have left in search of the missing trekkers.
The trekkers had left for the Bhujpatra mountain ranges on September 19. They had told the porters to return and meet them again at another place amid the ranges on September 28. After reaching the spot, the porters had been trying to contact the group for two days.
