While the date for the show hasn’t been revealed yet, this year’s Fyter Fest already has its main event.
AEW president and CEO Tony Khan announced in a post-Double or Nothing media scrum that Brian Cage will challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Fyter Fest. Cage made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing and won the Casino Ladder Match.
Moxley retained his AEW World Championship against Brodie Lee at Double or Nothing. The finish of the match was Lee passing out in a choke after kicking out of two Paradigm Shift DDTs.
Cage, who was accompanied by Taz, was the mystery entrant in the Casino Ladder Match at Double or Nothing. The match also featured Scorpio Sky, Frankie Kazarian, Kip Sabian, Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy, Colt Cabana, Joey Janela, and Luchasaurus.
Further details about Fyter Fest will be announced on Dynamite this week.
Khan said that Fyter Fest was originally supposed to take place in London, but that can’t happen due to the coronavirus pandemic.
AEW’s first Fyter Fest event took place in June 2019 and was headlined by Moxley defeating Joey Janela in an unsanctioned match. AEW and CEO Gaming partnered together for the event.
