Backstage reports indicate that Jerry Lawler was always planned to be involved in a segment with Elias on last week’s Raw. This was planned even before he took over color commentating duties with Booker T unable to fly in. It just seemed natural for Lawler to play a protagonist against Elias with Raw being held in his home town of Memphis, TN. It was clearly seen by the response of the crowd that the segment went over huge.
