L’Équipe report today that the expected changes in the Nice management to be made by owner Jim Ratcliffe are holding up any potential transfer activity for the club so far.
INEOS sporting director Dave Brailsford has undertaken an audit which is expected to lead to the changes, with neither manager Christophe Galtier nor club sporting director Julien Fournier assured of their positions next season.
The latter and his team are ostensibly in the firing line and did not expect their futures to take so long to be sorted out, while Galtier could leave for Paris Saint-Germain to join Luis Campos, or simply not be kept by Fournier’s eventual successor.
The former Lille manager wants to see an overhaul of the squad this summer, but any recruitment is impossible in the current scenario. So far, only goalkeeper Marcin Bułka’s loan from Paris Saint-Germain has been made permanent, for €2m.

Fournier is at the club on a daily basis, but has been less responsive to agents in the past few weeks. He had been pushing in spring to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Dan-Axel Zagadou in spring, with the Frenchman soon to be out of contract. He has also been following Paris FC left-back Jaouen Hadjam. Both transfers, though, are currently on standby.
