Two people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a central London jewellery store in which goods worth £40m were stolen.

Two men armed with handguns stole 43 pieces from Graff jewellers in New Bond Street on 6 August. It was the biggest jewellery robbery ever in the UK.

A female worker was dragged outside the store by the men, who fired a shot into the ground as they made their escape.

A reward of £1m has been put up in an effort to find those responsible.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the two arrests but would say no more for “operational reasons”.
