In a major setback to the government, the Supreme Court has rejected their objections to Rafale documents, saying that three “classified” documents are admissible in Court.

The Supreme Court pronounced its decision on whether or not to admit certain ‘confidential’ documents as evidence when conducting the review in the Rafale case. The apex court dismissed Centre’s preliminary objections seeking review of earlier judgment giving clean chit to the Union Government in Rafale deal.

Attorney General KK Venugopal originally argued that certain documents which the petitioners were trying to rely on had been “stolen”. He said that the petitioners and journalists who had used these documents had violated the Official Secrets Act.
