CLEMSON, SC — Video recorded the terrifying moment a clubhouse floor collapsed during a party in Clemson. Snapchat footage posted on Twitter around 12:45 a.m. Sunday showed dozens of people jumping at a clubhouse at the Woodlands Clemson Apartments when the hardwood floor gives way. Multiple screams can be heard as the partiers plummet down to the basement below. Even more panicked screams can be heard after the people seemingly realize what just happened.

“Everyone was jumping. The beat was about to drop and then the whole floor collapsed,” sophomore Larissa Stone told the Anderson Independent Mail. “Everyone was trying to climb out. People were under other people. People were bleeding. I had blood on my sneakers.”

More than 30 people were taken to hospitals in the area, according to WHNS-TV.

The university tweeted Sunday morning that it is aware of the incident. Clemson University emergency responders and firefighters coordinated triage and transported those who were hurt.

“By the time I had put one foot out the door, I felt that something was weird and that’s when everyone just collapsed and the guy behind me disappeared,” Raven Guerra told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Sunday. “Everyone was on the floor and people were screaming and there was wood sticking up from the floorboards.”

Student affairs representatives were sent to all three hospitals where the injured were taken and are gathering information. Early indications are that no one suffered any life-threatening injuries.

“I’m monitoring the situation, and my thoughts and prayers are with all who were injured,” tweeted Clemson President Jim Clements. “Our entire student support system will be available for any student impacted.”

The complex is located on state Route 93, about two miles away from the university.
