With last week’s announcement of their Blood & Guts match being postponed indefinitely, AEW began to fill some holes for this week’s edition of Dynamite by adding Cody vs. Jimmy Havoc to the show Sunday.
The two have never faced each other in AEW, but did have a no DQ, no countout singles match for the BPW title in April 2017 that Cody won.
Cody was on last week’s show on the losing end of a six-man tag match featuring The Elite vs. The Inner Circle.
Havoc was last seen defeating Severino Corrente in early-March to extend his singles winning streak to three (Sonny Kiss, Marko Stunt), all on AEW Dark. He hasn’t been on Dynamite since the November 20th Dynamite Dozen battle royal.
As of this point, there is a Chris Jericho-Matt Hardy confrontation booked for the show in addition to a parking lot brawl between the Lucha Bros and the Best Friends, and a lumberjack match between Wardlow and Luchasaurus.
