Fenerbahce Istanbul is the leader of Pool A with two straight victories. All the other pools are in the hands of Italian or Russian team. Italian champion Trentino did not have any problem to win in Beauvais 3:0. Macerata overcome Roeselare at home 3:1. Also Piacenza won in front of the home spectators.
In the second round Noliko Maaseik fight well against Russian Dynamo Moscow. Dynamo had to show their best game to win 3:2 in Maaseik. Iskra Odintsovo had to beat Friedrichshafen 3:1 to stay on first place in pool F. Kazan did not allow Paris to win one set.
In the third round there will be interesting matches between Piacnza and Kazan. Also Belchatow will have hard job to beat Odintsovo at home.
