MOORHEAD, Minn. – Saint John’s placed four wrestlers at MSU-Moorhead’s Dragon Open on Sunday, Dec. 8.
All but one of the Johnnies’ matches were against NCAA Division II competition.
Freshman Dylan Hanson led SJU with a fourth-place finish at 149 pounds, after suffering a narrow 7-6 loss in the third-place match, while classmate Julian Mares () and senior Dan Gehrz (Mendota Heights, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) each claimed fifth place at 157 and 184, respectively.

Sophomore Jacob Scherber (Buffalo, Minn.) won his first two matches at 174 pounds before dropping a pair of major decisions and a 13-8 decision in the fifth-place bout.
