Forbes released its updated list of billionaires today, and Vince McMahon landed on the list as the #436th richest person (up from 1,394th last year) with a “real time net worth” estimated at $1.8 billion.

The article says he made his fortune in “wrestling” (note, not “sports entertainment” or even “pro wrestling”) and is “self-made” (despite being a third-generation promoter). Excerpt: “McMahon grew up in a trailer park in North Carolina and joined his father’s small wrestling company in 1972. McMahon purchased the business ten years later, transforming the World Wrestling Federation from a regional operation into an international phenomenon.”

It highlighted that his company, WWE had $800 million in revenue last year and its programs are available in roughly 180 countries and 20 languages. It also notes that his wife, Linda, is the head of the U.S. Small Business Administration, and was confirmed in 2017 after being picked by President Donald Trump.

The article didn’t mention his launch of Alpha Entertainment as a parent company for the relaunch of the XFL.

Vince McMahon is 72 years old.
