Sunday 24th March 2019 will see London come to life as 13,000 people take to the streets to run the second ever London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM). They will be joined by thousands more supporters who will take advantage of entertainment and activities which will line the route on event day.

For both the runners and spectators LLHM is more than just a run, with the event having a huge emphasis on the user experience and offering activities and entertainment for all ages. It is a different way for both visitors and locals to experience London.

For spectators, as well as playing their part in cheering on participants and helping them hit their £6m fundraising target, they can join one of the 179 cheer stations along the route and enjoy live music acts, DJs, dance performances, historical activations and guided tours throughout the event. For families, there is a Little Spotters Treasure Hunt, a charity mascot relay race and a City Selfie Challenge.

The historical activations along the route include a bowler hat send off for runners, Dr Johnson’s Party, the ringing of the Bow Bells, a Roman reception and a suffragist pageant. Runners will be cheered across the finish line by famous historic characters such as Henry VIII and Dick Whittington along with present day iconic residents including The Chelsea Pensioners who’ll present medals.

For the runners, they will weave through the Capital’s most famous landmarks as well as some of the more quirky and hidden ones, learning facts about London and its past along the way.

“The London Landmarks Half Marathon is all about creating an amazing day out for both runners and supporters. Everyone will love the entertainment and activities on offer along the course, and we have something for everyone” said LLHM Event Director Lia Fyles.
