PSG duo Abdou Diallo and Idrissa Gueye will both travel for international duty with Senegal, despite an earlier LFP directive that banned players from joining up with national teams if it took them outside of the European Union or EEA, unless they were willing to quarantine for 7 days upon return, which would have resulted in them missing the next round of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches.
The LFP on Friday softened their stance, allowing for players leaving the aforementioned zones during the international break and not have to submit to a 7 day quarantine upon return to France, so long as their journey met certain conditions, including that players have to be transported by private jet.
The Senegalese FA has agreed to comply with the LFP’s conditions, meaning that 24-year-old left-sided defender Abdou Diallo will most likely make his debut for the African nation, having accepted their call-up for the very first time and thus seeing him give up on his right to be selected for the French national team.
