In a first for the Wednesday Night Wars, AEW Dynamite and NXT both finished with the same average number of total viewers on TNT and USA Network respectively.

Both shows averaged 778,000 viewers last night. Where AEW can claim a victory is in the important 18-49 demo, with the show finishing 11th on cable for the night with an average rating of 0.28. That was down 12 percent from last week, while the average viewership was down nine percent.

Over on the USA Network, NXT was down eight percent in total viewers and 17 percent in the demo, averaging a 0.24 rating and dropping to 21st for the night on cable television.

The cable news channels saw larger-than-average viewership due to coverage of the impeachment hearings. There were also two NBA games that partially aired against the wrestling shows.

After a week in which NXT won a couple of the other demos, it was back to usual with that show only beating Dynamite with viewers over 50, scoring a 0.38 to 0.29 victory.

AEW’s biggest advantage was in men 18-49, where they averaged a 0.4 to NXT’s 0.34.

Next week has loaded up lineups for both shows. And with network TV also airing repeat programming, Dynamite and NXT would both be expected to have stronger-than-usual viewership.

Here’s a look at the last 10 weeks for Dynamite and NXT as well as their 10-week average:
