L’Équipe are reporting that a move to Leeds United “isn’t a priority” for PSG’s Arnaud Kalimuendo (20). The academy product favours remaining at the Parc des Princes next season, whilst Ligue 1 clubs Rennes and Nice are also interested.

According to L’Équipe, Leeds United have submitted offers over €20m for the forward, who blossomed whilst on loan at RC Lens last season, scoring 12 Ligue 1 goals. However, currently, at least, a move to Yorkshire isn’t a priority for the player himself.

OGC Nice have placed Kalimuendo on their list of targets in case their move for Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram (24) doesn’t succeed. The Riviera club are therefore yet to submit an offer to PSG. Arriving late to proceedings are Stade Rennais. The club opened talks three days ago to try and convince the striker of a move, but although they are making concrete moves towards signing the player, both Nice and Leeds have a headstart on any deal.

Although Kalimuendo’s desire is to remain at PSG, manager Christophe Galtier was vague on the striker’s future. “He’s doing great but then there’s the market. We’ll see the club’s and the player’s decision,” he said during the club’s pre-season tour of Japan. PSG also need to sell, whilst upfront they are looking for a more athletic profile, as demonstrated by the arrival of Hugo Ekitike (20) and their interest in Gianluca Scamacca (23).
