— There appears to be conflicting information on whether WWE paid the women on their roster for the Greatest Royal Rumble despite them not wrestling on it. It was first mentioned by Jerry Lawler and then reportedly confirmed by PW Insider that WWE was paying the women with some reports suggesting that it was a hefty pay day.

— Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter continues to believe that it either never happened or hasn’t happened yet. Meltzer says that none of the women performers know anything about this and most who were asked have denied it. The fact that it would be a great public relations move by WWE yet the company hasn’t publicly come out and patted themselves on the back by saying they paid the women is another reason Meltzer feels like it hasn’t been done.

— It should be noted that if WWE does go ahead and pay the ladies, the performers wouldn’t really know it anyway as they wouldn’t have received those checks yet. The only talent that knew exactly what they would be earning for the event were irregular performers like Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Great Khali, Chris Jericho and Rey Mysterio. WWE also traditionally pays out is performers based on the live gate and the gate for this event was likely very weak since tickets were priced so low. WWE will likely only see the money that they are getting from the actual ten-year contract.
