L’Équipe report that Watford have made strong advances in recent days to sign Senegalese international winger Ismaila Sarr from Rennes.
After having an opening €30m bid for the player rejected by the Brittany club, Watford have intensified talks with Sarr’s entourage and are close to agreeing to the contours of a provisional contract.
The outlet reports that Sarr himself has told team-mates in Egypt at AFCON that he wants to make a move to the Hornets, but a deal hinges on Watford making an improved offer to his Ligue 1 club which satisfies President Olivier Létang.
