According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there has been a lot of movement as of late with regards to the long-speculated WWE UK project.

Initial plans for the project began when WWE launched the UK Title Tournament, and since then WWE has booked, then quietly canceled, many UK TV taping dates.

The Observer notes WWE does have a date booked in December in Margate, Kent, and as we noted before the company recently re-signed top UK talents Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, Wolfgang, Trent Seven and Mark Andrews. WWE considers the aforementioned talents their “top 5” when it comes to UK stars, and the company also recently signed UK standout Zack Gibson and word is he was signed for the new UK project and not for NXT.

With regards to WWE’s future plans, the idea as of now is for WWE to run a UK based promotion and conduct TV tapings. UK Trainers would be flown to Florida so they can learn the WWE style, and would then return to The UK to run the promotion.

Former NFL Player “Signs” NXT Contract

As noted, former NFL player Pat McAfee will be joining the NXT Takeover New Orleans pre-show panel, and WWE has Tweeted the following showing McAfee signing his “contract” to appear at the show:
