Bret “The Hitman” Hart was assaulted on Saturday night during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony at the Barclays Center in New York.
During the ceremony, where Hart and the late Jim Neidhart were being honored for their time as a part of the iconic Hart Foundation tag team, a “fan” rushed the ring and tackled the 61-year-old legend to the ground.
The attacker was immediately swarmed by numerous individuals including virtually every wrestler that happened to be within range of the incident. While we’re still looking for more information, it appears that the attacker was beaten badly before being escorted from the arena.
Thankfully it appears that The Hitman suffered no serious injuries from the assault, and was able to regain his composure and carry on with the Hall of Fame induction speech. Natalya, on behalf of her father, was also present in the ring at the time of the attack.
