As noted, Cesaro suffered a shoulder injury that resulted in him undergoing surgery this past Monday to repair the fully torn left rotator cuff. He is expected to be out of action for four to six months.

Cesaro said he hurt the shoulder two months ago but ignored it, claiming he could still wrestle and lift weights with it, with only a little bit of loss of strength. The belief is that he made the injury worse by continuing to wrestle and lift weights, as that type of injury is one that you shouldn’t be doing heavy movements that involve the shoulder.

According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, prior to the Survivor Series pay-per-view this past Sunday night, Cesaro was aware of the fact that he fully tore his left rotator cuff and that he would need surgery to repair the injury.

As a result, WWE pulled him from the show, as he was originally scheduled to be in the traditional Survivor Series elimination match on the Kickoff Show. After Cesaro was pulled out, WWE filled his spot with Titus O’Neil.
