Dolph Ziggler On Clash of Champions Match: “I Do What I Do, and I Know No One Can Do It As Good As Me”

Ahead of this Sunday night’s WWE Clash of Champions PPV, Dolph Ziggler spoke with USA Today’s “For the Win”, and below are some interview highlights:

Looking forward, you have a big title opportunity this Sunday, but it’s been kind of a quiet few months for you personally, do you have any resolutions or goals for 2018?

“Absolutely not. I don’t have goals anymore. I do what I do, and I know no one can do it as good as me. And you can say that cocky, or you can say it based on facts. I know how good I am and I love this job, I love doing it better than anyone else every single night. This Sunday at Clash of Champions, making it a triple threat, that means anything can happen. Anything goes, and if anyone is smarter than everyone else, it is me. I have the experience in my back pocket, and like I said, I’m so good at what I do. I am so confident I will find a way to win and become the United States Champion.”

Take me back to your first Tribute to the Troops in 2010. Did you feel any extra pressure performing for the troops?

“Oh, of course. It was a special moment for me. I remember walking down the ramp, I think I might have been Intercontinental champion at the time. It’s one thing when you know that your character’s a jerk, and you’ve got to go out there and kind of act like an idiot. But you still get a wink and a nod [in], let them know that you support everything that they do, and you really appreciate what they’re doing for you. But it feels great walking down that ramp knowing that you’re doing just a little bit to give back to these brave soldiers.”
