As noted, Finn Balor was forced to relinquish the new WWE Universal Championship he won at SummerSlam last night due to a “possible labrum tear” in his shoulder.
According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, tonight’s post-SummerSlam edition of RAW in Brooklyn, New York had to be rewritten as a result of the Balor situation. As seen during the show, they are holding a series of matches, starting with tonight’s show, to determine the next champion.
It looks as though Balor will need approximately six months to recover from the injury. During RAW, he made it clear that recapturing the Universal Title will be his first priority once he’s able to make his return.
“When I am healthy that Universal Title is the first thing I’m coming for,” said Balor.
