Rising fuel prices are also leading to rising violence in France as the nation is considering the ‘state of emergency’ option in the country.
News agency Reuters reported government spokesman Benjamin Griveaux said on Sunday that the government was mulling over this decision since the worst civil unrest in a decade hit the nation after men clad in ‘yellow vests’ protested against hike in fuel prices under Macron’s rule. He further added that though the government was open to dialogue with the protesters, it won’t change the course of its policy.
Around 2,83,000 protesters clad in high-visible, yellow coloured jackets protested against rising fuel prices in the nation and dilapidated residential buildings in Marseille, southern France that killed eight people on November 05.
