In anticipation of the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view on June 14th, WWE has begun uploading full matches from previous incarnations of the event, dating back to the original in 2009.

We go back just two years for our next entry in the list, to the 2017 Extreme Rules pay-per-view in Baltimore, Maryland. This free match, which you can check out above, is the Fatal 5-Way main event to crown a new #1 contender to the Universal Championship, with the winner getting a shot at Brock Lesnar for the title.

Samoa Joe would ultimately emerge victorious in the nearly 30-minute affair, outlasting Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in this match, rating 4.5 stars by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Joe would ultimately get his title match at the first (and only) Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view that July, losing to the “Beast Incarnate” in just 6 minutes.
