Heinrich, who served three terms in the House of Representatives before being elected senator in 2012, never faced a serious challenge throughout the campaign.
He currently sits on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, the Armed Services Committee, the Intelligence Committee and the U.S. Congress’s Joint Economic Committee.
