TMZ Sports recently caught up with John Cena and Nikki Bella while they were out on the town. Along with some questions for the Total Divas star about her current role on hit series Dancing With The Stars, Cena was asked if he would ever consider retiring from WWE for good.

The 16-time world champion insisted that he would “never” call it quits, stating that WWE was family.

Speculation began to arise about John Cena retiring following his match with Roman Reigns at WWE No Mercy, after which he took a poignant and emotional moment to soak in the vibe from the WWE Universe. Later that same night he cleared up the issue, confirming that his role would indeed be different going forward.

“I’m 40-years old and I have 15 years of track experience here in WWE,” Cena said. “I’m not done, but I don’t know if I can keep going at the pace I’ve been going.”

It will be interesting to see how the future Hall of Famers career evolves going forward. Given he is still the biggest attraction in professional wrestling anywhere on the planet, WWE will obviously continue to bring him back for big events as often as they possibly can. But long-term it’s possible we could see Cena set into more of a backstage role, working with the younger talent, or even as a public ambassador for the company.

What would you like to see from John Cena in the next five years? Ten years? Sound off in the comments section below!
