Kevin Owens says it’s only a matter of time until he becomes WWE World Hvt. champion. Owens added in a new interview that he thinks “I’m already in consideration for that.”

“I’m being put in the ring with guys like Roman Reigns, I’m main-eventing a lot of the live events, and I’ve only been here for seven months. I don’t think me becoming WWE world champion is at all out of the realm of possibility. It could happen at any time,” Owens told CantonRep.com promoting this weekend’s WWE show in Canton, Ohio.

Owens added that he thinks people will be more than surprised if he wins the WWE Title. It’s a comment that plays on two levels – smart fans not believing WWE would put their top title on someone of Owens’s size and casual/kayfabe fans not wanting to see Owens beat Roman Reigns.

“I think it might be something that’s very shocking to a lot of people, but I’ve been doing this for 15 years. I feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, and I honestly think whether it’s sooner or later, I will be WWE champion,” Owens said.

Owens has a chance to “pass Go” right to the WWE Title by winning the Royal Rumble, which seems unlikely since Reigns and others are the favorites. But, Owens winning the Rumble and the title would qualify as “shocking.”
