Lana Del Rey shared a brief trailer for her upcoming fifth studio album, Lust for Life, on Wednesday. Clocking in at just over two minutes, the black-and-white, noir-styled clip features a spooky soundtrack and a mysterious voiceover from the 31-year-old pop star.

“You know, in this town, an artist really needs a lot of space when they’re trying to cultivate something special,” Del Rey says from a perch within the “H” of the Hollywood sign. “A place to cultivate a world of their own far away from the real world that’s around them.”

As she conjures up strange holograms of the planets, Del Rey continues, explaining that “when I’m in the middle of making a record, especially now, when the world is in the middle of such a tumultuous period, I find I really need to take the space for myself, far away from real life, to consider what my contribution to the world should be in these dark times.”

“Even though these times can feel a little bit crazy,” she concludes, “they’re not so very different from what other generations have experienced at one time or another before. Amidst all the uncertainty and as we transition out of one era into another one, there’s no place I’d rather be than smack dab in the middle of Hollyweird, making this record, for you. Because you and the music and this place are my love, my life, my lust for life.”

Del Rey’s last album was 2015’s Honeymoon. In February, she debuted a new single “Love,” which she performed for the first time at South by Southwest earlier this month.

Wednesday’s announcement didn’t correspond with the four dates — February 24, March 26, April 24, and May 23 — that Del Rey noted in a cryptic, possibly witchcraft-oriented tweet she posted last month.

The Lust for Life trailer only says that the album “is coming soon.” See it above.
