When Goldberg pinned Brock Lesnar’s shoulders to the mat for the 1-2-3 at Sunday night’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view, the sold out audience inside Toronto’s Air Canada Center and viewing audience on the WWE Network weren’t the only ones in disbelief.
PWInsider.com is reporting that most, if not all of the WWE Superstars in the locker room were unaware of the plans for the finish, and were “shocked” when the match ended up the way it did.
As noted, a few hours prior to the start of the pay-per-view broadcast, “smart money” came in on the betting websites that carried lines for the WWE event, resulting in the odds for the matches being drastically altered to the point that even the main event completely flipped.
The odds saw Brock Lesnar a significant betting favorite to a massive underdog right before the show. “The Beast Incarnate” went from being a four-to-one favorite all weekend long to more than a ten-to-one underdog just hours before the show started.
