Pep Guardiola will be eager to return to winning ways after being held to a draw at Molineux when his side host the Magpies on Saturday
Manchester City will be looking to bounce back with a win against Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday following a 1-1 stalemate to newly-promoted Wolves last weekend.
The Premier League champions were halted at Molineux following a 5-1 rout of Huddersfield Town, and Pep Guardiola will be eager to return his side to the top of the table.
Meanwhile, Rafa Benitez’s team will be left disappointed by a late 2-1 loss to Chelsea last time out despite equalising towards the end of stoppage time, before Marcos Alonso proved to be the unlikely match-winner for the Blues.

Manchester City’s draw against Wolves mean that they have slipped to fifth place in the Premier League table, behind the likes of Watford, Tottenham, Chelsea and table-toppers Liverpool.
Guardiola’s side will rue the fact that some refereeing decisions may have gone against his team in last week’s fixture, but will need to regain momentum against Newcastle if they want to continue their hopes of defending their Premier League title.
City and Liverpool are being named as the frontrunners to challenge for the Premier League but the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea – who registered three wins in three – also remain dangerous.
Benitez’s side have yet to register a win this season in the Premier League following a summer that was riddled with off-field troubles, losing to Tottenham on opening day and drawing with Cardiff City in their second game.
Newcastle missed a penalty in the final minute in their game against Cardiff and will be eager to register their first win of the new campaign with an unlikely victory over the English champions.
The Magpies will need to recover from a disappointing 3-1 midweek defeat in the Carabao Cup to Nottingham Forest, though the loss would have done little to motivate ahead of the club’s toughest challenge in the Premier League against Guardiola’s side.
