As reported by L’Équipe, Marseille are again open to selling defender Duje Ćaleta-Car this transfer window in the hope of making a large sale to the Premier League, where the Croatian centre-back has had suitors in the past.

Having had some positive moments this season, as well as some poor outings, the 25-year-old is still one of OM’s most marketable players this summer and, with just a year left on his deal, Marseille are keen to avoid the same situation that saw key asset Boubacar Kamara run down his contract before leaving on a free for Aston Villa this summer.

Ćaleta-Car, however, is happy in Marseille having reasserted himself in the team this season and is looking forward to Champions League football with OM next year. He’s also wary of making the wrong move ahead of the World Cup in November, affecting his place in the Croatia side.

Marseille, however, are still hoping to find a club for the defender this off-season, although previous suitor West Ham’s interest is fading after signing Rennes’ centre-back Nayef Aguerd this month. Sevilla, however, remain in contact over the player. Aston Villa were watching the player closely too towards the end of the season.
