Matt Hardy is officially All Elite.
After his WWE contract expired, the longtime pro wrestling star began teasing a move to AEW in various “#FreeTheDELETE” web shows and other social media activity throughout the past several weeks.
Things culminated on Wednesday night.
In what was the first empty arena broadcast for AEW of the Coronavirus Pandemic Era, this week’s AEW Dynamite show at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida saw the long-awaited, highly-anticipated debut of “BROKEN” Matt Hardy.
For those who missed it, at the end of this week’s broadcast, Hardy was announced as the replacement for the injured Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks for the five-on-five Blood & Guts Match pitting The Elite against The Inner Circle on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite (Watch Video Here).
Following his AEW debut on Wednesday night, Hardy took to Twitter and changed his official username / Twitter handle to “#BROKEN Matt Hardy.” Additionally, he posted a statement commenting on his move to AEW.

“Considering the uncertainty of the current world we’re all living in, last night’s AEW on TNT was the best audience-free pro wrestling TV broadcast yet,” wrote Hardy via his official Twitter page. “And I’m ready to fight over it. Proud to be a part of AEW.”
In response to Hardy’s comments, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, an in-ring performer and behind-the-scenes Executive Vice President (EVP) for AEW, wrote a quick tweet replying to the “#BROKEN” one.
“Welcome Matt Hardy to AEW,” Cody posted.
