Jimmy Fallon’s mother Gloria sadly passed away on Saturday in New York at age 68, just one day after The Tonight Show host canceled Friday’s Nov. 3 taping.
The TV personality—who was able to share his mother’s final moments with her—has since canceled this week’s tapings. “Jimmy was at his mother’s bedside, along with her loved ones, when she passed away at NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC,” a spokesperson for the family told People. “Our prayers go out to Jimmy and his family as they go through this tough time.”
Following the news, celebrities like Miley Cyrus have taken to social media to wish him well and offer their condolences.
“I am sad to say my friend Jimmy’s mother has passed away… sending him all the love in my heart … Keep smiling Jimmy…..” she wrote in one tweet, later adding, “I know it’s tough to do when we lose someone we care about, I couldn’t image not havin my mama…. I am so sorry.”
