Tonight’s Mixed Match Challenge Pre-Show opens up with Vic Joseph & Kayla Braxton welcoming us to the show. They start off by recapping last week’s matches. They then preview and discuss tonight’s matches. The Pre-Show comes to a close.
Main Show:
Tonight’s episode of Mixed Match Challenge opens up with Michael Cole, Renee Young & Vic Joseph welcoming us to the show. We head right to the ring for the first match of the night and it is Country Dominance vs. Team Pawz.
Country Dominance (Bobby Lashley & Mickie James) with Lio Rush vs. Team Pawz (Booby Roode & Natalya): Both Mickie and Natalya get a “Bobby” chant going for their respective partners. Natalya puts Lashley’s cat ears on him, he flexes with them, then takes them off and stomps them. Roode goes for a roll-up, but only gets a two count. Roode tries for some punches in the corner, but doesn’t have much luck. Lashley launches Roode across the ring. Roode tags out and Natalya and Mickie are in. Mickie is sent to the corner. Mickie with a back elbow on Natalya. Mickie hits a hurricanrana on Natalya, but Natalya gets up and hits a clothesline. Backstage, The Miz & Asuka get ready for their match against Lana & Rusev. Back in the ring, Natalya catches Mickie’s kick, slams her down face first, hits a low dropkick, goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Natalya goes for a tag, but Mickie knocks her down when she turns her back. Mickie with some kicks to the back. Mickie whips Natalya down to the mat by the hair, then goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Both women are up and collide in the center of the ring. Both women tag out. Roode swings away on Lashley, kicks him to the chest, then hits him with a clothesline, but Lashley hits a back body drop on Roode. Lashley then runs into a kick from Roode. Roode with a blockbuster off the second rope, then goes for a pin, but only gets a two count. Roode up top, but Lashley catches him and sends him across the ring. Lashley lines up his opponent for a spear and goes into the ring post on the other side of the ring. Roode looks for the DDT, but Mickie comes in and smacks his head down. Natalya comes in and argues with her. Double sharpshooters in the middle of the ring. Mickie taps out, but she’s not the legal partner though. The referee gets them out of the ring. Rush with a distraction. Roode tries for the glorious DDT, but doesn’t get it. Lashley with a spear on Roode and that will do it. Winners: Country Dominance (Bobby Lashley & Mickie James)
We are informed that next week it will be Finn Balor & Bayley vs. Bobby Roode & Natalya.
We head backstage where Finn Balor & Bayley say that it will be glorious when they defeat Roode & Natalya next week.
We head to another area backstage where Kayla Braxton talks with Bobby Roode & Natalya. Natalya tells Roode to stay positive and that they will get the win next week. Roode apologizes and says that he thinks they still have a chance and it will be. Asuka interrupts and says that “We will win” as she heads out for her match.
Awe-suka (The Miz & Asuka) vs. Ravishing Rusev Day (Rusev & Lana): Asuka and Lana get things started. Asuka dodges Lana and does a little dance. Lana returns fire with a dance of her own. Asuka goes for a high five and then hammers Lana. Lana gets tossed into the corner. Lana with an ax kick and drops Asuka. Lana then spins back up to her feet. The crowd with a “Lana is the best! Lana number one!” chant. The Miz gets up on the second turnbuckle and yells “I’m the best!”. The crowd boos that. Asuka tries it and gets cheered big time. They start going round and round with the crowd cheering everybody but the Miz. Rusev and Lana go for a kiss and then point to The Miz and Asuka. The Miz says “I’m married!” and they both go for kicks. Both are caught and both The Miz & Asuka are sent out to the floor. Rusev goes for a dive, but The Miz pulls Asuka in front of him. Lana then hits a crossbody off the apron, taking out both opponents. Backstage, R-Truth and Carmella are in the Facebook comments section. Rusev and The Miz are back in. Rusev drops The Miz and looks for a big kick, but doesn’t get it. The Miz goes for his skull crushing finale, but doesn’t get it. Rusev lands a kick. The Miz flips out of a back suplex, hits a chop block, and he tags in Asuka. Both Rusev and Lana try to lock in submissions. The Miz gets clotheslined out of the ring. Lana tries for a cover on Asuka, but only gets a two count. Lana looks to finish off Asuka. The Miz grabs the mic and does Aiden English’s intro, confusing both Lana and Rusev. The Miz gets chased and dropped by Rusev. Asuka takes outs Rusev with a hip attack. Lana sends Asuka out to the floor and puts the accolade on The Miz. Asuka is back in the ring, but misses a kick. Lana with a facebuster, then goes for a cover, but The Miz pulls Lana off Asuka. Lana pokes and then slaps The Miz. Asuka comes in from behind to get the asuka lock on Lana and she taps out. Winners: Awe-suka (The Miz & Asuka)
We are informed that next week it will be Jimmy Uso & Naomi vs. The Miz & Asuka, also Finn Balor & Bayley vs. Bobby Roode & Natalya.
We then get a promo from Jimmy Uso & Naomi saying that they are going to win next week. Naomi then says that she loves Asuka but not The Miz and they will both “feel the glow.” Mixed Match Challenge goes off the air.
