Gianluca Di Marzio reports this afternoon that contact has been established between the entourage of Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot and Monaco, over a potential move back to Ligue 1 for the French international.

The Bianconeri are said to be working on streamlining their squad and are open to selling, with the former Paris Saint-Germain man among those who could be set for the exit door.

Negotiations could be set to step up after the Monégasques’ Champions League qualifier against PSV Eindhoven, the first leg of which will be played next Tuesday and the second a week later.

The 27-year-old has been in Italy for the past three seasons, making a total of 129 appearances, scoring 14 goals and registering 12 assists in that time. He has nevertheless underwhelmed this past season.

In the wake of Paul Pogba’s arrival, Rabiot reportedly privately expressed his desire to leave, and he was not part of the Juventus squad for the pre-season tour of the USA. Despite Pogba’s recent injury, a move is still on the cards for his fellow midfielder.
