— PWInsider reports that Miz’s original deal was set to run out in 2022 and he has signed a three-year extension, effectively keeping him with WWE for the next six years until 2025. Paige meanwhile has signed a four-year contract keeping her with the company through 2023.

— WWE waited to break the news on the Paige and Miz contract signings on WWE Backstage as well as to announce the five Smackdown team members for the men’s match at Survivor Series as a way to spark interest in the FS1 show since it officially debuted to a very lackluster audience last week.
— CM Punk’s return to WWE Backstage was kept a secret from everyone on tonight’s telecast except for Renee Young as a way to prevent any leaks from making it online. Punk’s deal is strictly with FOX Sports (rather than with WWE) though WWE did obviously give their approval for his signing. The two sides had been working on the deal but only came to an official agreement within the last few days.
