Our colleagues at Le 10 Sport report that a big bust up occurred between AS Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim and Sporting Director Michael Emenalo after the Principality side’s 1-0 loss to Caen last weekend.
The Portuguese tactician does not want to work with the former Chelsea Sporting Director, who has been kept on by owner Dimitri Rybolovlev essentially because of financial reasons – after giving Thierry Henry close to a €25m pay-off, ASM could not afford Emenalo’s severance package falling in the 2018/19 financial year from a book-balancing perspective.
On Sunday, Jardim was very angry to see Emenalo come into the team dressing room, the Nigerian’s appearance surprised the players, but they were concerned with the bust-up that followed.
A discussion has since occurred between board members to deal with the issue and it is too early to know what the outcome will be. One thing is clear – Jardim does not want to work with Emenalo in the future…
