As reported by Foot Mercato, contrary to other reports, Nantes have not yet made an offer for Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba but widespread interest remains in the former Caen goalkeeper.

However, recently promoted back to the Premier League for the first time this century, Forest have indeed received various enquires over the goalkeeper from both French and overseas clubs.

The 28-year-old, who joined the then-Championship club from French side Caen in 2019, after spells with Marseille, Nancy and Le Havre, has a year left on his contract in Nottingham where he enjoyed a productive campaign. In 45 games across all competitions this season, Samba managed to keep 16 clean sheets, conceding 39 goals in the process as Forest eventually won promotion via the playoffs.

Nantes’ goalkeeping situation is a source of debate this window with current number one Alban Lafont reportedly being offered to clubs around the continent for €20m. Lens, meanwhile, have also shown an interest in the Forest player this summer with their own goalkeeper situation currently in flux.
