Foot Mercato report this morning that Nottingham Forest are closing in on the signing of defender Loïc Badé from Rennes, with the newly-promoted Premier League club looking to sign the player on a loan deal with an option to buy.

However, several details still need to be ironed out before an agreement on all fronts can be found with the Bretons. In the meantime, the likes of Aston Villa, Southampton and Augsburg are all still pushing.

RMC Sport had indicated yesterday that the former Lens man was the subject of a similar offer from Southampton, while Foot Mercato had also indicated days ago that Leicester City, Bournemouth and Brentford.

Badé made the move to Brittany last summer in a €20m transfer, although he only played 14 league games in what would go on to be an injury-plagued season. In any case, it appears that the French youth international is set for a move to the Premier League by the end of the day.
