NYRR will host events for runners of all
ages and abilities in June, with a variety of festive and

        On June 1, millions around the world will get
        moving for Global Running Day. This worldwide celebration encourages
        people of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels to get active and show
        their love for the sport. Here in New York
        City, NYRR will be offering free events throughout the five boroughs,
        all day long. Celebrations include the Mighty Milers Fun Run at Icahn
        Stadium with over 2,000 NYC public school students and three U.S.

        This June, NYRR turns 58 years old. To
        celebrate the history of NYRR, participants will put on their favorite
        old-school running gear and run down Memory Lane at the NYRR Retro
        4-miler. This throwback-themed race takes place in Central
        ParkÛÓwhere many iconic moments in running have occurred. For more

        Founded in 1972, the NYRR New York Mini 10K
        was the worldÛªs original women-only road race and named for the
        miniskirt. Now an annual NYRR staple, the race continues to empower
        women of all ages and fitness levels to be active and feel
        great on the run. This year there are 18 Rio-bound Olympic marathoners

        For the first time in race history there will
        be a GirlsÛª Run at the NYRR New York Mini 10K. Runners ages 7-18 can
        participate in a 2.25-mile Central Park race, starting just before the
        womenÛªs 10K race. Runners are encouraged register
        their young daughters, sisters, or friends to make the day a family

        The brand-new NYRR Queens 5K will warm up the
        roadway for the NYRR Five-Borough Series: Queens 10K later in the
        morning. This scenic 3.1-mile race runs through Flushing Meadow and

        This 10K is the third race in the NYRR
        Five-Borough Series and starts off at the beautiful Flushing Meadows
        Corona Park. Runners are treated to a flat, fast course through

        More than 5,000 runners will take to Central Park on June 25 to show their pride in this five-mile race. This year marks the 35th
        running of the event, a collaboration between NYRR and Front Runners
        New York, a competitive
        and social club for LDBT runners, multisport athletes, and their
        allies. A portion of proceeds from this yearÛªs race will benefit GLSEN,
        INC- the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. GLSEN strives to
        create positive, inclusive environments within all
        school communities so all school members can reach educational success

Achilles Hope & Possibility (4M) ÛÒ Available

        This event celebrates running by bringing
        together athletes with disabilities and able-bodied athletes. Instead of
        age groups, this race presents awards by various categories of ability,
        including: pushrim wheelchair, handcycle, power
        chair, double amputee, visually impaired, able-bodied, and more.

NYRR Open Runs
This community-based initiative brings free
weekly runs and walks to local neighborhood parks across New York City.
