English Championship side Brentford have completed the signing of Reims defender Julian Jeanvier yesterday, subject to international clearance.
It is reported that Brentford have recruited the 26-year-old for a fee of €2m.
Jeanvier has been an integral figure for Reims since moving to the then-Ligue 2 side in 2016, making 65 appearances over the last two campaigns, culminating in earning promotion last season.
The Clichy-born defender enjoyed loan spells at Red Star and Belgian side Mouscron prior to his transfer to the Stade Auguste Delaune.
Brentford manager Dean Smith told the club’s website that Jeanvier’s form for Reims last year was pivotal: “We think he has the potential to get better. He had a great season with Reims last season and his performances saw him named in the Team of the Year for Ligue 2. I look forward to working with him”.
Jeanvier has signed a 4-year contract at Griffin Park.
