Lorient have announced the signing of defensive midfielder Fabien Lemoine from Saint Étienne for a deal worth €1m.
The 30-year-old joins on a four-year-deal after six years with Les Verts, where he made 181 Ligue 1 appearances, winning the Coupe de la Ligue in 2013 after scoring the winning goal in the final.
“The project that FC Lorient has proposed to me is very interesting,” said Lemoine.
“We have been in contact for some time with the club and I was able to talk with Mickael Landreau and the President. It’s a thoughtful choice, I am very happy to come and play with the Merlus and come back to Brittany. I will try to bring my experience to the group that has great potential.”
Lorient head coach Mickael Landreau added, “It is an exceptional opportunity to have a player of the quality of Fabien Lemoine in the team. Fabien will also bring his experience and leadership to the entire group. I am delighted to have signed him.”
