Strasbourg midfielder Mehdi Chahiri (25), who spent last season on loan at Ligue 2 side Caen, has once again made the move down a division to join Paris FC on a one-year loan deal.
Prior to his move to Paris FC, who missed out on promotion to Ligue 1 last season, the Frenchman spent time at Lorient, as well as Parisian rivals Red Star. Chahiri has only made 24 appearances for Strasbourg since his arrival in 2020, and whilst at Caen last season he made 13 appearances, scoring three goals.
Chahiri, who can play on the wing or in a no.10 role, becomes Paris FC’s first signing of the transfer window. His arrival begins to compensate for the losses of Alimani Gory (25), Lamine Gueye (24) and Gaëtan Laura (26), who have all returned to their parent clubs.
Within the press release from the club, there was no mention of a purchase option and obligation.
