According to a report by SportsKeeda’s Daniel Wood, Kenny Omega and Marty Scurll are two of the “Elite” members who have yet to turn down contract offers from WWE and that explains their absence during the All Elite Wrestling promotion announcement that occurred at midnight on Tuesday.
Wood also reports he was told by a source that has a $3.5 million downside guarantee offer with language that will grow and promote Omega’s gaming aspirations. This corroborated separate reports from Dave Meltzer that said that Cody and The Bucks had turned down seven-figure figures from the WWE.
Wood added that several current WWE Superstars such as Xavier Woods, AJ Styles and Seth Rollins are actively trying to help recruit Omega to sign with the company. Wood also states that he has been told by a source that Omega will have a sit down meeting with Vince McMahon and Triple H with the WWE purchasing a plane ticket for Omega to fly over from Japan. It is understood this meeting is to negotiate final terms for the contract offer and will be when Omega decides whether to sign or not. This is likely why he doesn’t feature in the video reveal for All Elite Wrestling.
Wood’s report adds that he has not heard much about the future of Scurll. He still has to serve out the rest of his Ring of Honor deal, but reportedly has a contract offer on the table from the WWE.
All Elite Wrestling is sure to be an exciting development into the wrestling world and everyone should keep their eye out for January 8th when they make more announcements. Whether or not Marty Scurll and Kenny Omega are part of those announcements will be interesting
