If the “Horror Show” tagline on this year’s WWE Extreme Rules was initially confusing, it started to make a bit more sense given some Tuesday news on the Seth Rollins-Rey Mysterio Eye for an Eye match.
Following a description of the match on WWE.com that read “a winner can only determined by extracting the opponent’s eye,” Pro Wrestling Sheet confirmed with the company that in order to win, Rollins or Mysterio will have to pull their opponent’s eye out.
The match was made official for the July 19th show on Monday’s Raw after Mysterio and Owens defeated Rollins and Murphy for the right to make the stipulation. This has been foreshadowed for weeks after Rollins injured Mysterio’s eye in a May attack (pictured above) and later attempted to do the same to Mysterio’s son who has been part of the storyline.
Dave Meltzer reported on Sunday that the stipulation was coming and that Mysterio is currently working without a contract.
