Amid her movie Blue Night showing at the Tribeca Film Festival and the debut of her SJP Collection x Gilt bridal collection, Sarah Jessica Parker is also dealing with a lawsuit.
The Sex and the City actress has been accused of being paid to promote a jewelry line, and then not doing so. Jewelry designer Kat Florence is behind the suit, and she alleges that Parker has not held up her end of the bargain when it comes to promoting her line of diamond jewelry.

According to WWD, Florence, through her corporate entity Kat Florence Design Ltd., told a New York federal court this week that she paid Parker $5 million in installments and 10 percent of the jewelry sales (which totaled $7.5 million). While it’s unclear if this is accurate and noteworthy that Parker did endorse the line in fall 2016 when it first came out, Florence claimed that “shortly after beginning the agreement, all good faith performance of the agreement ceased.”
Allegedly, SJP was supposed to attend a collection launch party, but they could not come to a conclusion regarding the date. The event was then canceled.

“This date and time could not possibly work for the evening product launch that was planned and was part of the contractual obligations,” Florence wrote in the complaint, according to Harper’s Bazaar UK. “Notwithstanding, the defendant refused to provide any alternative evening times or dates.”
It is worth noting that it has been alleged that additional asks were made of Parker mid-way through their contract after it had already been signed.
Florence is specifically suing Parker for breach of contract and negligent misrepresentation. She’s seeking damages for production costs of the line with Parker and compensatory damages.
Update: This has been updated to reflect new information regarding the coordination of the party date and what was initially asked of Parker.
