St. Cloud State wrestling scores 50-0 win at Minot State
The #2 ranked St. Cloud State University wrestling team (11-1, 3-0 NSIC) scored an impressive 50-0 victory at Minot State University on Friday, Jan. 29 in Minot, N.D.
SCSU opened the night with an 18-0 lead in the match thanks to forfeit wins at 125-pounds, 133-pounds and 285-pounds. The Huskies continue to gain the upper hand with a 4-2 win by Taner Trembley at 141-pounds and a 6-0 win at 149-pounds by #5 Jay Hildreth.
The Huskies then went on the offensive with pins at 157-pounds by Larry Bomstad and at 165-pounds by #1 Clint Poster. At 174-pounds, Clayton Jennissen posted a 10-1 major decision win to make it 34-0. The wins continued at 184-pounds with a 28-13 tech fall by Chevy Farris and a 21-6 tech fall at V.J. Giulio at 197 pounds.
SCSU will wrap up its weekend trip to North Dakota with a match at the University of Mary on Saturday, Jan. 30.
