As noted earlier this evening, former NXT star Apollo Crews won a match to earn the right to challenge The Miz for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at the upcoming WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. However, it wasn’t the only SummerSlam match announced on this week’s edition of SmackDown Live.
During a promo segment later on in the show (see above), a big singles match between AJ Styles and John Cena was made official for the biggest event of the summer.
WWE SummerSlam takes place on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
