Michael Cheika is set to name his extended Wallabies squad on Thursday for the upcoming England Tour. Rugby.com.au takes a look at some of the Super Rugby bolters from each club that could come into calculations in June.
Allan Alaalatoa
Stepping up early in the season when incumbent Wallaby prop Scott Sio was injured, Alaalatoa has thrived in the Brumbies jersey in 2016. A former Australian Schoolboy and U20s representative, Alaalatoa has been earmarked has a future Wallaby and could be part of Michael Cheika’s squad for the upcoming tour against England. Australian Rugby lost older brother Michael to the Crusaders and will be eager to blood Allan in the gold jersey very soon, having locked him down until the end of 2019.
Luke Morahan
The speedster has one Wallaby cap to his name having represented Australia in 2012 but ti’s been a while between drinks. Morahan’s start to the season was curtailed by injury but he has been one of the most consistent performers for the Force alongside star fullback Dane Haylett-Petty. Morahan can add X-Factor and speed to the Wallabies squad out wide if selected.
Andrew Ready
Bolted into Wallabies calculations in the last month after continually impressing in the Reds jersey. Not many people would’ve known much about Ready before this year, but he has made the number two jersey his own with Queensland Reds and Wallabies veteran Saia Fainga’a being pushed to the bench. Amazingly, Ready only made the switch to hooker late in his schoolboys days after playing alongside Liam Gill who owned the number seven jersey at Brisbane GPS school, St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace.

Tom Robertson
Studying medicine full time while also being a professional rugby player, Robertson has made enormous strides this season in the absence of injured veteran Benn Robinson. The Waratahs were struggling at the beginning of the season with their scrum, but since Robertson’s introduction to the starting side, they’ve seen major improvement at the set piece. The 21-year-old could gain a lot of experience from just being part of the Wallabies squad.
Reece Hodge
Only signed with the Melbourne Rebels in August last year after starring in the Shute Shield, Hodge has shown his versatility in his debut Super Rugby season. The former Manly Marlins star has stood out on the big stage playing every backline position this season. Hodge is also the top Super Rugby try-scorer in Australia despite missing a month with an injured quad.
