WWE announcer Mike Rome won the 24/7 Championship on Friday night at the WWE Live event in Pittsburgh, PA. Unfortunately, he didn’t even get to finish announcing himself as the new champion before his title reign came to an abrupt halt.
The show saw a similar angle to the Madison Square Garden house show the day after Christmas, where R-Truth lost the title to one of the Singh Brothers, only to later steal it back from the other brother while they weren’t paying attention. This time, they added a ring announcer into the mix for good measure.
Check out the footage below.
As for R-Truth, he is now a 27-time WWE 24/7 Champion. That means he has tied the all-time record for most reigns with a single WWE championship, originally set by Raven with the Hardcore title.
